Wienerschnitzel Expands Retail Footprint with New Walmart Location in Colorado Springs

Posted on

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wienerschnitzel, known for selling great American food, is continuing its expansion into high-traffic retail environments with the opening of its fourth restaurant inside a Walmart Supercenter, located at 3201 E Platte Ave, Colorado Springs, CO, opening the weekend of May 16.

As consumer dining habits continue to shift toward convenience, speed, and accessibility, Wienerschnitzel’s Walmart locations are designed to meet guests where they are, bringing its iconic menu into everyday shopping destinations.

The new location will be owned and operated by franchise partners Scott Wolhman and Manjinder Singh, experienced local operators who continue to expand Wienerschnitzel’s presence in Colorado Springs. Wolhman brings 25-plus years of experience with 7-Eleven since 2008, while Singh has owned and operated multiple businesses across the state since 2005. Together, the duo previously opened their second Wienerschnitzel in Fountain, Colorado in 2024, and the Walmart site will be their third location in the Colorado Springs market. Their continued investment underscores growing demand for Wienerschnitzel in the region and highlights the brand’s appeal among experienced operators seeking scalable, non-traditional growth opportunities.

Each Walmart-based location features Wienerschnitzel’s full menu, including fan favorites like the Chili Cheese Dog, Junkyard Dog, Chili Cheese Fries, Jalapeño Poppers, and Tastee Freez® soft serve desserts, offering shoppers a quick, recognizable, and craveable dining option.

“Scott and Manny have demonstrated a strong commitment to growing our brand in Colorado,” said Doug Koegeboehn, Chief Marketing Officer for Wienerschnitzel. “Their continued investment in the market reflects both the strength of the opportunity and the demand we’re seeing across the region. With operators like them leading the way, we’re able to bring our brand into high-traffic environments while maintaining the quality and consistency guests expect from Wienerschnitzel.

Wienerschnitzel’s expansion into Walmart locations represents a key component of its non-traditional growth strategy, with additional restaurants planned in Reno, NV, and Bakersfield, CA. The brand is also actively pursuing opportunities in airports, travel plazas, food courts, military bases, and other high-visibility venues.

The Colorado Springs opening also builds on Wienerschnitzel’s broader retail momentum, including the recent expansion of its Original Corn Dogs into more than 500 grocery stores across California and Nevada, including Save Mart, FoodMaxx, Lucky, Albertsons, and Vons.

Wienerschnitzel currently operates 340 franchised locations across 13 states, with more than 50 additional units in development nationwide. As the brand continues to grow, it is actively seeking experienced operators to expand in both traditional and non-traditional formats.
